We don't want your data.
LazyComparo has no accounts, no sign-up, no newsletter, no analytics and no advertising trackers. There is no database of users because there are no users to put in it. This page explains what does happen when you load the site.
The short version
- We ask you for nothing and store nothing about you on our servers.
- Your shortlist and settings are saved in your own browser and never sent to us.
- We set no cookies and run no analytics or advertising scripts.
- Loading the site does contact a few third parties — hosting, fonts, code libraries and game cover art. They're listed below.
What's stored on your device
The comparison tools remember your choices using your browser's localStorage, so the site is useful when you come back. These stay on your device, are readable only by this site, and are never transmitted anywhere:
lc-games-shortlist— the games you've shortlistedlc-games-priorities— how you weighted what matters to youlc-games-budget— your budget slider position
Clearing your browser's site data for LazyComparo removes all of it, permanently and immediately. Nothing is kept anywhere else, so there is no copy for us to delete on request. If you use a private/incognito window, the site works and simply forgets you when the window closes.
What our servers see
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the standard request information needed to serve a page and defend against abuse — IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp — under Cloudflare's privacy policy. We do not add our own logging on top of it, and we do not build profiles, sessions or identifiers from it.
The price endpoints run on Cloudflare's edge and call the stores server-side. That's a deliberate privacy property as well as a technical one: Steam, Epic, GOG and IsThereAnyDeal see our server asking about a game, not your browser — your IP is not passed on to them.
Third parties your browser contacts
| Who | Why |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosting and content delivery for all three sites |
| Google Fonts | Serves the two typefaces the design uses |
| unpkg | Serves the JavaScript libraries the comparison tools are built on |
| Steam's CDN | Game cover artwork on the browse and compare views |
| Epic Games | Only if you click through to claim a free game |
Each of these sees a request from your browser and therefore your IP address, as is true of any resource a web page loads. None of them are told who you are, because we don't know either. We include no social widgets, embedded players, comment systems, chat popups, heatmaps or session recorders.
Children
The site is a general-audience buying-advice tool and is not directed at children. We knowingly collect nothing from anyone, of any age.
Your rights (PDPA)
LazyComparo is operated from Singapore and follows the Personal Data Protection Act. Because we collect no personal data and hold no user records, there is in practice nothing to access, correct, port or erase — but if you believe we hold something about you, or you have a privacy question, please raise it on GitHub and it will be answered.
Terms of use
Plain language, because there's not much to say:
- The site is free, and provided as-is. Use it as one input to a purchase, not as a guarantee.
- Prices and availability change constantly. Live figures are cached for up to about 30 minutes and can be out of date by the time you act on them. The store's own page is always the authority — check it before you pay. We're not responsible for a purchase that turns out to cost more than we said, or for a sale that ended.
- Editorial figures are estimates, not measurements. Which ones are editorial is listed on How we rank.
- We're not affiliated with Valve, Epic Games, GOG, Apple, Samsung or any other company named on the site. Product names, logos and store artwork belong to their respective owners and are used to identify what's being compared.
- Please don't scrape it into a competing product. Personal use, sharing links, and quoting with attribution are all fine and encouraged.
- These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.
Changes to this page
If the site ever starts collecting something — analytics, an account system, anything at all — this page is updated before that ships, with the date below, and the change is noted in the public repository. The same applies if an affiliate link or advertisement ever appears: see the commitment on About.
